Prometric Scheduled Maintenance to Affect Test Scheduling Saturday, May 21

​Due to scheduled system maintenance, Prometric will be unavailable to schedule or modify test appointments Saturday, May 21, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. ET.

During this time, users will not be able to schedule, reschedule or cancel test appointments.

NMLS Release 2022.5 Scheduled for Saturday, May 21

​NMLS maintenance release 2022.5 is scheduled for Saturday, May 21. The system updates can be reviewed in the NMLS 2022.5 Release Notes. These release notes include details on system enhancements for identity verification, payment processing, and additional updates related to mortgage loan originators.     ​

CSBS Board of Directors Announces the Passing of John W. Ryan

​It is with great sadness that we announce that John W. Ryan, President and Chief Executive Officer of CSBS, died unexpectedly late Monday, May 16, in Washington, D.C. Read the full announcement here.

CSBS, on behalf of state regulators, operates NMLS to license and register non-depository financial service providers in the mortgage, money services businesses, consumer finance and debt industries.

 

Wyoming Department of Banking Shares Notice from Wyoming Collection Agency Board

​The WY Collection Agency Board has terminated the Certificate of Exemption Process. This determination does not have any effect on the requirements for licensure. Click here or more information.​ 

Hawaii Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs (Division of Financial Institutions) remove State Criminal Background Check requirements in NMLS

Effective March 1, 2022, the State of Hawaii, Division of Financial Institutions, will no longer require a State of Hawaii criminal background check (Hawaii CBC) for the following individuals:

  • Mortgage Loan Originator Company MU2 individuals (control persons)
  • Mortgage Loan Originators, MU4
  • Sole Proprietor Mortgage Loan Originators, MU4

Accordingly, FieldPrint will no longer process a Hawaii CBC for these individuals after February 28, 2022.  Please contact FieldPrint if any of the above MU2s or MU4s have scheduled a Hawaii CBC appointment for March 1, 2022 or thereafter. ​

Hawaii Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs (Division of Financial Institutions) adds Small Dollar Installment Loan Branch to NMLS on 2/28/2022

NMLS will begin receiving new applications for the Hawaii Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs (Division of Financial Institutions). New applicants and will be able to submit these records through NMLS.

Hawaii Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs (Division of Financial Institutions) to add Electronic Surety Bond

​Starting March 1, the Hawaii Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs (Division of Financial Institutions) will begin receiving new and converted Electronic Surety Bonds (ESB) through NMLS for the following license types:

  • Money Transmitter License

See the ESB Adoption Map and Table for a list of state agencies who have also adopted ESB and required ESB conversion dates.
