2020 Annual Renewal Period Starts Soon

The NMLS 2020 Streamlined Renewal Process begins November 1 and ends December 31. You must meet all renewal requirements in the states where you are licensed before you or your company can submit a renewal request. Visit the Annual Renewal page on the NMLS Resource Center for guidance on how to prepare and complete the license renewal process.

New Temporary Authority to Operate Web Page Launches

We have launched a Temporary Authority to Operate web page on the NMLS Resource Center to help you prepare for the November 24 implementation of this new legislation. The page will make it easy for state agencies, industry and the public to access a variety of Temporary Authority​ resources including educational materials, policies and more. 

Reminder: Complete Annual Continuing Education for 2019

The SAFE Act requires state-licensed mortgage loan originators to complete a minimum of eight hours of NMLS-approved continuing education annually (depending on your state’s requirements). Visit the NMLS Resource Center for information on how to review your education record.

Also, check out the state-specific education charts for agencies with early deadlines and other specific requirements.

 

Tennessee Department of Financial Institutions Adds Premium Finance Company License to NMLS September 1, 2019

NMLS is now receiving new application and transition filings for the Tennessee Department of Financial Institutions’ Premium Finance Company License. New applicants and existing licensees are now able to submit these records through NMLS.

Note: Companies holding these license types are required to submit a license transition request through NMLS by filing a Company Form (MU1) and an Individual Form (MU2) for each of their control persons by December 31. Additionally, for each branch holding these license types, companies are encouraged to complete and submit a Branch Form (MU3). Click here for more information.

Rhode Island Adds Student Loan Servicer Registration to NMLS September 1, 2019

Kentucky Department of Financial Institutions Adds Deferred Deposit Service Business & Check Cashing to NMLS September 1, 2019

NMLS is now receiving new application and transition filings for the Kentucky Department of Financial Institutions’ Deferred Deposit Service Business and Check Cashing. New applicants and existing licensees are now able to submit these records through NMLS.
